is 'insecure' the correct term?

How should I rephrase?
This football player seems so insecure with the ball as if he's going to lose the ball the second he gets it or doesn't know what to do with the ball once he has it.

Hi I would write your idea like this: This footballer seems so uncomfortable in controlling the ball. Either, he might be having the fear of losing it to the opponent the next second or he might be fumbling on what to do next. Prajwal
