Is "incidence" the right word in this sentence?

Hi,

Is "incidence" the right word in my sentence below?

"Disturbance of the circadian system may lead to incidence of some diseases, such as metabolic syndrome, cognitive impairment, cardiovascular diseases, prostate and breast cancers."

You mean "Disturbance of the circadian system may lead to an increased incidence of some diseases, such as metabolic syndrome, cognitive impairment, cardiovascular diseases, and prostate and breast cancers."
