Is 'in both cases fine"?

Hi,

Can "in both cases" refer to variables (reaction time and lateral deviation) in my sentence below:

"There was significant differences in both reaction time and lateral deviation among the three groups, and the performance of the elderly drivers was weaker in both cases. (I mean for the two variables mentioned above).

Thanks!
