Hi Clive,

Thanks for the reference but these are the facts I already knew.
Here is a quote the likes of which i found several on the web:
"For years I have contended that an undesirable effect of the Galactic Center is ignorance, or more precisely: ignore-ance. Unlike ignorance, which is the lack of knowledge, ignore-ance is the act of ignoring available insight, information and

eyal.herlinI understand that ignorance and ignore has the same latin roots but quotes like these make me wonder if i can safely say that according to English grammar ignorance is composed of the word ignore and the suffix ance.

I don't think that's a very big leap.

Once during my Bible study I understood that Ignorance is a compound word resulting from the combination of two words namely:

Ignore + Brilliance = (Ignor-) + (-ance) = Ignorance

To be ignorant is to ignore brilliance. Brilliance refers to the Light (the Truth, the Way)... the Knowledge of the Truth... That is why Ignorance is always referred to as the lack of Knowledge..

from what i see in the world, and the academic world, knowledge just leads to pride.. and pride can change the most brilliant angel into the darkest monster.

beware.. narci

I've recently started doing a lot of research into the matter, because of an argument I had with my wife. If you look at the definitions, there is actually a key difference between the root "ignore" and the word "ignorance.

In English, the word ignore means to 'disregard' or 'pay no attention to.' The word ignorance only implies a lack of knowledge. The key difference is that to ignore so
