Dear all,

I would like to know which of the following sentences is apt in this context.

1) My brother is hospitalised for a week now.

2) My brother has been hospitalised for a week now.

You could also say

eg 'My brother has been in hospital for a week now.'

eg 'My brother has been in hospital for a week.'
