Is "He" the Object Of Record?

On that occasion he used the original scoring; on Telarch he is accompanied by a full symphony orchestra and is recorded very sumptuously indeed.


It seems to me that syntactically "he" is recorded very sumptuously indeed (by someone). But I don't think it's possible for someone to record a person himself/herself. What is the object of record?
