Is he a historical person ? or Was he a historical person ?

1 ) Jesus Christ is a historical person.
2 ) Jesus Christ was a historical person.

Could you tell me which is correct ? Or both are correct by any chance ?

Hi, Neither is wrong.. The phrase 'historical figure ' is more common than 'historical person'. I always say 'a n historical .

Neither is wrong..
The phrase 'historical figure' is more common than 'historical person'.

I always say 'an historical . . . ' Some people do, some people don't.

I would replace person with figure. As for the question, I would use the first one because historical already
denotes the past. And if Jesus is of historical importance, then Jesus is *a historical figure.

*If you pronounce the ‘h’ at the beginning of historical, use a; otherwise, use an.
