Is 'have their own world' correctly used in this sentence?

Is 'have their own world' correctly used in this sentence?

Those schoolboys have their own world.

I heard somebody say this, explaining that 'have their own world' means 'have no concern for others' or 'be concerned about their own welfare only.' Is it true?
