Is 'get on top of' appropriate here?

Hi. Is 'gets on top of' OK here?

A fight.

Glen punches the man in the face. The man sinks to the floor. Glen picks him up, staggers out into the hallway, and stumbles to the floor. Glen rolls to his feet, gets on top of the man, and starts punching him again.
