Is “don’t be + verb” correct?

I used it in a sentence, I’m not sure if it’s right or wrong. Here’s the sentence “Don’t be running around”.

The given sentence is okay, but only in one context, that is, you're telling someone: "Don't be unfaithful to me (when I'm gone)."
