Is correct to say "they put their life at risk"?

How can i change this sentence and use the phrase life-threatening?

They put their life at risk is a natural expression. Some more context would be helpful to see how best to change it.

For example in my country, in the jungle, the police officers have to fight against the traffic of marihuana.
And I'd like to use the phrase life-threatening in this context replacing the natural expression than you mencioned to me.

I think I could be like that. "The police officers have life-threatening everyday in the jungle to maintain a control of drugs".

You could say something like The police experience life-threatening situations every day in the jungle as they fight to control drugs.

"Life-threatening" is an adjective. It needs to come before a noun. Life-threatening situations, etc.

"Every day" is two words.
