Is correct the following sentence?

Hi!

Is correct the sentence "It's missing something essential"?

If so, could I say "It lacks something essential" instead?

Thanks!

  • I wouldn't use Continuous here.
  • It's a fact and there is no temporal or another way of durability.

Hi Andy

Both of your sentences are fine. You could also say "Something essential is missing."

Hi Fandorin

The word "missing" is used as an adjective here.
