Is contradictory the correct word?

How would you correctly phrase this?

Is “contradictory” the correct word?

Which is correct? Judging by or if you go by?

What I am seeing is contradictory. She has a Hermes bag worth $7000 but is in the subway going to a shady part of town which (judging by/ if you go by) the time, should be her home.
Thanks

"Judgine by" is more formal, more standard usage. "If you go by the time" is more casual, conversational. Both are correct.
