Is comma necessary?

Hi!

Is the underlined comma necessary?

Achieve freedom, and don't let your glasses take decisions in your place!

One more thing: maybe I should change the bold part with "instead of you". Which sounds better?

As the sentence stands, it doesn't make a lot of sense. Removing the comma doesn't help. "glasses" - whether the tumbler kind or spectacles on your nose - don't make or take decisions.
