Is Bush careless with words, or is he just too stupid?

Why don't Bush's staff come up with
better ways of putting things?
Around Sept. 22, 2003
Bush ... rejected a suggestion things were not going well...
"I don't
think they're going badly. I mean, obviously I think they're going badly for
the soldiers who lost their lives..."
Then in the past week:
"President Bush insisted Monday that the United States is making progress in Iraq and said American successes are actually spurring the violence by making
insurgents more despepate."

I'll concede that he started something. How it will end is anybody's guess. Our casualties are only now really beginning. The end is not in sight.

It were better to avoid stating opinions as obvious facts: such acts too often start needless flame wars (at least they are needless on groups not overtly dedicated to political discussions).

It is foolish to think that this started with our recent invasion of Iraq.

Why would anyone think the US would run away? What did 9/11 change in this respect?

My teeth hurt every time I hear him say "nuke-you-luhr." I know it's a common pronunciation, but one hopes that the president would pronounce it in the traditional fashion. (I'm pretty sure there was already a long thread on this awhile back, so I won't belabor it.)
