Is brush and slash right?

Hi teachers,

If you sit in an aisle seat on a crowded bus, someone holding a folder with sharp corners accidentally brushes your face, leaving you with a slash.

Can you tell me how to make the sentences natural?
Thanks

As you have written this, your sentence says that this happens every time you sit in an aisle seat on a crowded bus.

Is this your intended meaning? I think not.

Hi Clive,, hi Rover,

I didn't know what tense I should use when describing an action that I make up to understand how to use the vocabulary.
Would 'swipe my face' or 'brush my face' be alright?

Thanks

Hi CalifJim,

Thanks for your help. I don't really know how to describe a plastic folder with four very sharp corners/ rough edges. Especially in winter folder like this can scatch easily.

Thanks
