Is "being" a present participle or gerund here?

In an interview shown in the video below, James Cameron talked about the new movie "Terminator Genysis", which he didn't direct or write himself. At 19 seconds into this video, he said:

And I start to see things I recognize. It's being very respectful of the first two films.
...
And then all of a sudden, it just swerves.
...
And now I'm going on a journey. I feel like the franchise has been reinvigorated, like this is a renaissance.

In the second sentence above, is "being" a present participle or a gerund? If the sentence is in the present progressive, then "being" is a present participle. If not, it's a gerund. Which is the correct way of seeing it?

Could you please tell me why "being" is used here?
I mean, why the progressive aspect instead of the simple "It's very respective of..."?

"It's being very respectful of the first two films" has more of a sense of immediacy (something happening now) or of deliberateness.

After being well, where will u go. Here being is gerund or participle.
