Is being

Hello,
I have a problem with 'is being'..
I know we can use the continuous form of 'to be' to stress that
sb's behaviour/action is temporary..
Is this the only reason?

She is being very kind at present!
He is being so rude today.
Can we say : I am being, you are being, etc. ?

Is the situation the same in the past simple? (in other tenses it won't work at all, will it? e.g. It will be being X)
She was being very kind when she wanted to get a new bike.
(I don't think this one works..)

Could you help, please? Emotion: tongue tied
Thank you!
Kind regards.

As far as I know, that's the only reason, yes. You can personify objects, though, and make the subject inanimate: Today my computer is being very uncooperative.

The past works the same way. The same patterns
