Hello!

is based on something vs. is basing on something

How do I use the phrase "is basing on something" ? I imagine it's not used in the same way as "is based on something". Can you give me examples, please.

I can't recall ever using or seeing the phrase "is basing on. . " (except where "basing " has a direct object, as in "He is basing his decision on incorrect information").

I can't recall ever using or seeing the phrase "is basing on. . . " (except where "basing " has a direct object, as in "He is basing his decision on incorrect information").

I can't think of an example of 'is basing on something'.
I see no meaning in it.
