Is backup the correct term to use?

Is back up the correct word?

How should I have written it?

I’ve run out of the floss I usually use but I have a back up that I bought and didn’t like. I can use that until Monday when the drug store opens.

I usually stock up on floss so when I finish one I have a backup.

thanks

"Back up" is understandable, but not the best word for this situation. A better word to use here might be "spare" or "extra." "...but I have a spare/an extra that I bought..." "...so when I use up one I have spares/extras."
