Is "Are you satisfied?" offensive?

Scenario: Today I asked some one for assistance. After the issue was done, he asked "Are you satisfied?". I felt insulted because I considered it rude and provocative. Does this question bear offensive meanings in certain scenario? Is it a good practice to ask this question to a customer or colleague? I have never used this question in my life since I consider it offensive...

I think that only you can be the judge. The question itself does not seem provocative or rude to me, but it would depend upon the circumstances.
