Is 'any more so than' a possible combination?

Dear colleagues,

I was wondering if this mixture is grammatical in English, and if so, please suggest how it should stand in real sentences. Thank you.

Thank you, Dave. I hadn't known about the advanced search until you told me. [H]

The collocation "not any more so than" seems to be used typically in sentences like "She is pretty but not any more so than other girls in my class". I take this "so" as a substitute for "pretty", ie, "She is pretty but she is not any prettier than other girls in my class". Am I right?
