Is a semicolon an error in here?

I really don't know how to punctuate long sentences without a semicolon. I hate when there too many commas. On a second thought, I think I could have used a full stop in front of "instead", actually.

"Yeah, I did google up a lot of the stuff, but they [Glanbia people] said that they can't really order, instead everything is ordered for them; and, unfortunately, they are the only store in my town."

Yeah, I did google up a lot of the stuff, but they [the Glanbia people] said that they can't really order ; instead, everything is ordered for the m, and unf ortunately, they are the only store in my town.

Cool, looks so much better. Are you sure that I cannot have "and, unfortunately," like this? I intended to use 'unfortunately' as an interrupter.

Yes.

Instead, you used it as an impediment.
