Is a landlord a supplier?

Hi all,

I am trying to write an essay about suppliers and business conduct.

Is it correct to refer to a landlord as a supplier in the general english context?

I mean all the landlord really does is rent out land so can that also count as supplying land?

Thanks!

In vernacular English, supplies are tangible items, so your supplier generally supplies things that you can carry away. The field of economics has a broader definition of supply, namely, anything that can satisfy a demand. So economists talk about the labor supply or the supply of rental housing units. In that context, landlords are suppliers.
