Is a comma needed? Which bold word(s) should I use?

It was my dad’s near-death experience(,) which brought me to have/take up faith in the the Goddess of Mercy.

The comma is not possible.

I don't particularly like the phrasing of either, but I can't think of a better, so I choose 'have'.
