As a footnote:

1. to graze on the X

With field, you would use "in", as Optilang suggests.

Other collocations require "on": thus giraffes graze on the plains of Africa, because "on" collocates with "plain".

"To graze on X" can also describe the foodstuff, e.g.

2. Giraffes habitually graze on acacia leaves.
