Irregular nouns

Hi
I wanted to use the following to show plural nouns for some ESL students. Is it correct to highlight this, that , those and these as irregular nouns or is this confusing? I've seen this/these, that/those included in some irregular nouns lists but not in others. - thanks

this is a man ; these are men
that is a person ; those are people

They are not nouns; they are demonstrative pronouns. On the other hand, it seems reasonable to teach them at the same time, since they inflect in parallel.
