Hi Please help me with this. Context: Two sisters discuss their grandfather's death. While one was with the grandfather when he 'passed away' (not really) the other was not. The sister whocomes home after she hears the news asks her sister if she has sent for the doctor so that his death can be confirmed. Actually the grandfather is thought to be dead here. Mrs Jordan: It is a fatal mistake. ( Her sister not sending word for a doctor) Mrs Slater: Don't talk so silly. What good could a doctor have done? Mrs Jordan: Look at the cases of persons being restored to life hours after they were thought to be 'gone' My question: What is the irony in Mrs Jordan's response?
