Hello,
Recently, one native English speaker in http://forum.wordreference.com/threads/official-website-of-iran-government-of-irans-government-of-the-iranian-government.3200213/ told me that the genitive 's' is not idiomatic in "Iran's government".
Then, I found some http://fraze.it/n_search.jsp?q=Japan%27s+government&l=0&t=0&ffo=false&findid=-1&ff= which have used "Japan's government" pretty much. Look at these sentences:

Japan's government says the recovery and decontamination effort could take years.

www.bbc.co.uk

Japan's government is trying to restore the trust its people are now unwilling to give.

www.economist.com

This is my question==> if "Japan's government" is idiomatic, then, why isn't "Iran's government" idiomatic? I see no difference between my self-made example and the one used in BBC.com.

Thank you.

Do you mean sentence #2 is also acceptable and idiomatic?

Thank you.

4. We saw the picture of the president in the official website of Iran Government.

He also told me that #4 is also wrong because "Iran" does not work as an adjective. Do you agree with him? Can't countries name work as an adjective?

Iran's government is fine, Iran government is not.
