IQ test came back 70

Hello,

Can you please tell me whether "it came back (a specific score)" is commonly used with reference to an IQ test?If not, how should I paraphrase this part? The IQ test gave a score of 70, perhaps?

"Josh had his first IQ test before starting kindergarten. It came back 70".

Thank you
