IPad vs the iPad

Hi,

What is the difference between iPad and the iPad, or iTunes and the iTunes?

I was thinking the iPad, for instance, is an device (product) and iPad is the name of the product, but on the Internet, I wound find the articles that conflicts my thought. For example:

1) He co-founded Apple and played a key role in the creation of the Mac, the iPod, iTunes, the iPhone, iPad and other innovative devices and technologies, which so many other companies have done their best to imitate.

Why there's no "the" before iTunes?

2) This week, we detail the errors in Mike Daisey's story about visiting Foxconn, which makes iPads and other products for Apple in China.

Why not "the" iPads?

Thank you for your help.

1-- iTunes is like a company; it is a service, not a product.
2-- Because 'iPads' is plural, no 'the' is required unless referring to a specific subset of them, as in 'Where are the iPads that I bought yesterday?'
