INVOLVED IN HIS LIFE

0Dear Teachers,02br
02br
001. My son's Dad is not involved in his life at all, even though my son has attempted to reach out to his Dad.02br
02br
00- "is not involved in his life at all" here means "isn't interested in what happens in his life at all", right?02br
02br
002. My parents used to say that if I missed more than a day in a week of school, then I couldn't go out the following weekend. And there was no negotiating my way out of it either.02br
02br
00- What does "there was no negotiating my way out of it either" mean here?02br
02br
00Thanks very much to Teachers,02br
