Invited me over for a game

1 He had invited me over for a game of pool.

2 He had invited me over for a game of chess.

Do these imply that he intended to play only one game?

I think in '1' it is not clear how many games we are going to play. I sort of have the feeling that '2' implies only a single game, but again, one can't be sure.

Gratefully,
Navi.
