hi! will appreciate your help on this. Which is correct?

"the case was thoroughly investigated on..." or
"the case was thoroughly investigated..."

It depends upon what comes after these words. You could say, for instance, "the case was thoroughly investigated on Tuesday."
But I doubt that's what you meant. So no, you probably don't need the "on."
