inversion in english

today while talking about my running speed with my grandson i ran into a situation when i had to use inversion in my sentence and said "even me in my 54 doesn't it take so long to run 100 meters''.I wanted to emphasize my age for the kid so that he understood he would better spend more time training.Since i pronounced the sentence it has been in my mind all the time.
So,the question is:
Is it right to use inversion in this case and say "doesn't it take" or should i simply prefer the combination of words "it doesn't take" and avoid any entanglement ?
