inversion? emphasis?

A reference book asks students to convert the following sentence by emphasizing the underlined part.

the following sentence
We had a barbecue party on the rooftop. (on the rooftop? ??? ??)

Answer sheet: On the rooftop had we a barbecue party.

I think the following is correct.
On the rooftop did we have a barbecue party.
