Inversion and non-defining relative clauses

Hi,

Could you please correct the following sentence:

"Little does my friend, who is an English teacher in China, suspect that he is about to lose his job."

I think it's wrong because the relative clause separates the verb and the subject, but how exactly do I explain this to in grammar terms? Why is it a mistake?
Thank you.
