Inversion

Are these sentences grammatically correct:

1) He speaks French better than do I.
2) He likes apples more than do I like pears.
3) Bigger than him was his brother.
4) He was big, but bigger was his brother.
5) He was big, but much bigger was his brother.

navitasan Are these sentences grammatically correct They are so strange on my ear that it's difficult to say. The first one seems vaguely possible, but I find the others atrocious. I suspect opinions will vary on these.

3rd sentence more sounds like Master Yoda Grammar. I don't the context of bigger but it should have been "His brother is/was bigger than him".
