Could you tell me which sentence is fine of the following sentences?

I'm sorry to say that none of these sounds at all natural, and I can't imagine any native speaker generating any of them either in speech or writing. These two (below) are probably the best of the lot, but even here there is a sense that they are contrived -- that the writer is trying too hard to be clever and original in his choice of grammatical structures. Through the town the band marched vigorously .
