Inversion

Hello

I,m writing an essay and I woud like to change a certain sentence to be more formal. I wanted to use inversion to rephrase the if clause, but I'm not sure how to form a sentence.

There are some situations, which do not occur very often, but when the do, people believe that if one wishes for something at that time, it will come true.

Please help me with my inversion problem, because i think this sentence is horribly awkward and clumsy.

Hi, There are some situations, which do not occur very often, but when the do, people believe that if one wishes for something at that time, it will come true. You have a lot of clauses piled into this sentence. I suggest There are rare situations in which people believe that a wish will come true.

I don't know quite what you want to invert, but your sentence is certainly rambling and unfocussed. How about something like this?--

There are some uncommon situations in which people believe that if they wish for something, it will come true.
