Hi,



Which one of the following sentences sounds better? I feel that there should be ‘the’ before ‘invention’ as the invention is specific.



1. He is credited with invention of telephone.

2. He is credited with the invention of telephone.

I agree, or you could say "He is credited with inventing the telephone.

Oops, sorry, I just noticed it should be:

"He is credited with the invention of the telephone."
