introductory email : needs assistance
I wrote this email a while ago and i know it has some mistakes in it. Could you please correct it?
Dear professor _____ I am Nirmal from Madurai. I hold a masters degree in Biotechnology and a bachelor’s degree in Zoology. I earned a gold medal for academic excellence in my masters. I would like you to consider my application for a post of a research assistant in your department. My ambition is to become an ethologist .My first exposure to Wildlife Conservation was when I worked on a couple of small projects as a part of the undergraduate curriculum, where we documented the insect population of the alagarkovil hills, Madurai, and our study on the ecosystem of planktons in the shores of Tamil nadu. Though they are small level projects they had a profound impact on me that I wanted to be an ethologist myself. I make frequent trips to the forest area in the foothills of sirumalai, Dindigul district to observe the ecology, and bird watching. In the trips I have found a megalithic burial site, and a prehistoric cave painting. I am fortunate to have an exciting opportunity to be a part of a couple of geological investigations in the Jurassic cretaceous beds of Ariyalur, tamil nadu, in which I happen to excavate fossils and study them. I would like to study and work under your guidance and focus on wildlife biology, because that allows me to combine both my interests in learning more about applied Biology as well as investigating animal behavior. I am confident of my decision. With many distinguished scientists as professors, I know that I will gain expert knowledge at the forefront of discovery. Given my past history of commitment to excellence, I am confident that I will bring a high level of energy and enthusiasm to your program. I am sure to exceed your expectations, because of both my academic and interpersonal skills. I will enrich the program by enabling fellow students and professors to benefit from my ambitious and open nature. Furthermore, my interdisciplinary education will add more diversity to your program.
