Introducing Software for Learning English

Nobody denies that learning English is difficult. A professor who teaches English said only one-tenth people to achieve their application level after they had been learning English, except all give it up. Some experts also said: “There is no shortcut in learning English.” However, everybody should labor for efficiency, of course except no learning English. I think computers must be good assistants to do it; concretely, software would help you to gain your ends. I would like to recommend briefly some software for learning English; if interested in something you can search, download, and try them out….

A: Word Typing Software

I recommend three ones in the category; the first is As-U-Type, the second is Auto Typing Pro. Edition, and the third is QuickSpell. The first and the second have hint boxes in advance when you are typing, and you can choose a word or a phrase needed; the third checks just real time spelling. If often mistake in spelling, you need the first or the second; if you have good skill, but none can be always correct in spelling, and then the third is better one for your choice.

B: Grammar Check Software

I can just present only one, StyleWriter, in the category; because anyone else is not worthy of the name, and is beneath to write it out. StyleWriter can check for 35000 style and English use problems. Randomly StyleWriter checks against a text on www.4Ewriting.com there are at least several problems to occur, of course, some issues are in disagreement, but other obvious mistakes. I believe that StyleWriter is an English grammar Master.

C: Text Analysis Software

Neither many in the category, nor some of them are suitable to individual use (for enterprises). I would also like to recommend three ones: the first, TextAnalyst; the second, Concordance; and the third, WordMetry. The first is a tool for semantic analysis, navigation, and search of unstructured texts; it can extract distillate from optional texts. “Navigating in an ”, and then saves your much time. The second or third is for anyone who needs study texts closely or analyze language in-depth; it is recommendable that Concordance handles Chinese texts on Windows 2000/XP too.

D: Text Reading Aloud Software

There are many ones in the category. I like TextAloud, which is excellent than other; you can use it to listen to texts.

E: Anti-Plagiarism Software

Not many ones in the category, I find just two of them, EVE2 and Plagiarism-Finder. They are able to research same or analogical texts from Internet to terminal computers. If you are a teacher, you can use the software to inspect students whether they have plagiarized texts for their schoolwork on Web pages. On the other hand, you have a text and need more ones that are similar, EVE2 can be an assistant too. Perhaps Plagiarism-Finder is better than EVE2, because Plagiarism-Finder is much more expensive ($125.00); asleep at the switch, I have no more its 30-day trial, so do not understand either.

Above all the software, I most recognize StyleWriter that is integrated with Microsoft Word. Microsoft Word has grammar check role itself, added StyleWriter, and so they are able to correct many mistakes in your texts. If remember 1000-2000 English words and understand essential grammar, I think; and then you can perform to write short English texts out.

I apply myself to method and efficiency of learning English, I am glad to communicate with anybody for our common purpose. Let us do our best!
