introducing my self in email to a professor

Hi, I look your blog is very helpful in giving advice in writing letter. Now, I want to introduce my self first to a professor to continue my dual degree at his college. my college has already cooperation agreement for this dual degree program. But my supervisor in my college advice me to send my introduction for this profesor, can you help me my friend for correcting this letter:

Dear Professor,
My name is XX, I'm college student at VV University in of BB in the Master program. I already heard that my college has cooperation appointment for dual degree program and I really interesting to join this program. My specific major is metaheuristic, I really interesting about this major. so if you don't mind I want you to be my supervisor there if I pass the test for dual degree program.
