CAn I say,

(a) We introduced ourselves and chatted with orphans happily.

(b) We introduced ourselves and chatted happily with orphans.

(c) We introduced ourselves first. Then, we chatted with the chidren happily.

I would choose the third sentence to avoid "orphans", children is a better choice in my opinion. You could also say.

We happily chatted with the children.

Why can't we put "happily" at the end of the sentence after the verb "chatted"?

IS there any rule?

No rule against it; it just sounds better closer to chatted.
