War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.
John Stuart Mill
English economist & philosopher (1806 - 1873)

  • [/nq] Fascinating.
  • It doesn't appear in any of my dictionaries, including the Latin one.
  • There are some 83 Google hits, in some of which it seems to be a mistake for "intrinsic", and in the rest of which it seems incomprehensible.
  • One of the hits is in French, and it seems meaningless there, too: it's not in the big online French Academy dictionary.

I agree with the suggestion that the word is probably bogus. OED2 has a rare word, "tring" with the following excerpt:
Any species of bird of the genus Tringa (which name is more frequent in use), commonly called Sandpipers. So "t

Please take off your pants or I won't read your e-mail. I will not, no matter how "good" the deal, patronise any business which sends unsolicited commercial e-mail or that advertises in discussion newsgroups.

There are actually only 14 hits that are not "very similar", though. What struck me was the one hit that contrasts it with "extringent":
