Intransitive verb ?

Hi, can an intransitive verb like 'wait' function as a transitive verb ? 
for instance , consider the following sentence :

she waited for me. 

is it possible to say the 'me' can be the propositional object for the verb 'wait' ?

No. You can't have any intervening preposition (for) if you want to call it "transitive".

There is an unusual use of 'wait' as a transitive verb, however. It's more or less a slang expression.
