Intranet

I want to ask colleagues to email me if they have any news they want me to post on the intranet.
Would it be correct to say "If you have any stories you would like posting on the intranet, please email me."? Would that imply that they must write the pieces?

Thanks

Thank you. My colleagues wouldn't be posting the stories on the intranet, I would, so wouldn't it be incorrect to say "you would like to post"? I guess I could change it to "you would like me to post."! You deleted "posting". Is that because it's incorrect or is a style preference?

Sorry I forgot to ask. Does "stories" mean accounts of things that have happened or can it also mean things that are going to happen e.g someone is doing a sponsored walk in five weeks)?

No, it is fine as I wrote it. Readers understand the situation.

'Stories' is probably wrong then; I thought you meant narratives, fictional or real. I suggest that you use 'news' or 'articles' or 'announcements' instead.

Thank you for your suggestions. Would you mind explaining why "posting" is incorrect, please? would "posted" be wrong too?"

'Would you like' takes the infinitive, not the participle. Do not confuse it with 'Do you like', which takes either.
Anonymouswould "posted" be wrong too?"
Very wrong.

Thank you so much. I'm reading this now: http://www.learnamericanenglishonline.com/Blue%20Level/B27_Would_Like.html

It's says "would like" should be followed by an object, gerund or infinitive.

Would this work: "If you would like your news posting on..."?

If you would like your news (to be) posted on GossipColumn.com, ...

Thank you. The reason I can say "posted" there is because I have moved the object (news) - is that right? I know Mister M said it was very wrong to say "posted" in my other sentence.
