Intonation in BrE and AmE without context
I wonder intonation varies between British English and American English.
My book explains sentences below loosely. No context is introduced but only the sentence itself.
Where are you going to be? (the intonation is in 'Where')BrE
Where are you going to be? (the intonation is in 'be')AmE
Are you sure? (the intonation is in 'sure')AmE
Are you sure? (the intonation is in 'Are' and 'sure') BrE
Don't tell me that you don't know it. (the intonation is in 'don't') BrE

Can these really like this without context?

Hi I don't think you can tell the intonation of a sentence unless you know the context. All of these seem natural to me in BrE.. - I'm staying with my mum and dad at Christmas - where are you going to be?

I don't think you can tell the intonation of a sentence unless you know the context. All of these seem natural to me in BrE..
- I'm staying with my mum and dad at Christmas - where are you going to be?
- I think I'll get the train, not the bus
- Are you sure?
- I'm sure my boyfriend will support me
- Are you sure?
