Into the Passive Voice ...

Hi, everybody ...
I have this question:

Can I change this sentence into the Passive?  The sentence is:

"The wise men agreed."

If yes, please tell me how.
Emotion: thinking

Many thanks in advance.

Top answer

Not possible. The verb "agreed" has no (direct) object (it is intransitive), so it cannot be made passive.

Can I say: "It was agreed" as a passive form of: "The wise men agreed."? Is it possible anyway?

Thanks a lot.

That is the passive equivalent of "The wise men reached agreement", not of "The wise men agreed."
